Não É Simples Assim (It’s Not That Simple) is an independent dramatic suspense short film that I was part of in 2019/2020. It was produced in Campinas, Sao Paulo, during my studies in Social Communication (Media Studies) at UNICAMP.
The film was originally written by me as a medium-length film and was later adapted into a short film format. The project involved 4 months of pre-production, two extensive days of filming, and about 4 months of post-production. During post-production, I collaborated with the film's editor, performed the color grading for the edited short, and closely followed the soundtrack composition and sound mixing process.

A GLIMPSE OF THE COLOR GRADING WORK:
More about the short film:
In a context where we see many polarizations in various debates, or the lack thereof, whether in the fields of culture, education, or politics, the fictional film tells the story of the character Guilherme, who harbors a fantasy of revenge for his sister's death in a car accident from the past. He creates a monster out of the person he considers responsible and hasn’t contacted for years: the driver and antagonist, Marcelo. By attributing unique and simplified traits of evil to Marcelo, it becomes easier for Guilherme to cope with his loss and pursue his revenge than to accept that Marcelo has complexities in his personality and that his character is not simply defined by a single action or choice from the past. A mysterious woman appears to Guilherme and offers her help to execute his revenge plan. The execution of the plan pushes the protagonist to his limits, tests his certainties, and confronts him with unexpected consequences.
